My son and I recently went for a 17mile bicycle ride downhill on the Creeper trail in Damascus, Va. It is a beautiful trail from White Top mountain to the small town of Damascus, Va. I would recommend it to anyone. It was wonderful to spend the day enjoying the outdoors.

Cardboard Boat Races
Yes, I said cardboard boat races. It is Funfest in Kingsport, Tn. My son and I went to see this event for the first time last week. It was great. There were some spectacular sinkings and some "I can't believe that is cardboard" boats. It was loads of fun. My son and I have decided to make one to enter next year. We are still trying to come up with a name and design for our cardboard craft. Here are a few pictures of the event.
I did it!
I cleaned out my messy closet! It only took me 4 hours! I discovered that I had alot of shoes!!! I bought 5 plastic storage boxes from Walmart, only 3 dollars each and a set of 4 hooks for 6 dollars for the set, which I hung up myself. Also a set of felt covered slim hangers for 29 dollars from Bed, Bath and Beyond. It was soooo worth it! I even found, spare house keys, money and my wedding ring from my previous marriage! I hope I can sick to my new resolution and keep it clean and neat. It was so nice to be able to find things in my closet this morning. Here is the before and after.

Getting Organized - Baby Steps
I am not an organized person by nature. I am a wait until company is coming over to clean my house person. I used to say if it weren't for visitors, I would never have a clean house. I tend to clean only the minimum amount. However, I do realize that being more organized would make many aspects of my life easier and less stressful. Isn't that what changing my life is about? So clearly this is an aspect of my life I need to change. I started my changes this week. I did not just dump the mail on the kitchen table, to pile up until I can't see over it. I have sorted and tossed junk mail and filed bills in a to be paid folder each day this week. I am also cleaning in small sections, yesterday dishes, today laundry, tomorrow garbage; you get the idea. Baby Steps. Today I am getting organized.

Have you laughed today?
Today, I left my house to run errands and passed the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile and a Pink Gorilla! What are the odds of seeing those two things in the same day? (unless you live in Vegas)Which I don't. I love this country! I couldn't help but laugh! I did manage to snap a picture of the gorilla with my cell phone but I wasn't quite fast enough to get a picture of the Weiner Mobile. Today, I found more laughter!
Beginning
My name is Sara. I am 43 years old and find myself at a point in my life where I need to make some changes - exercise more, eat less, read more, cook more, travel more, laugh more, worry less, love more and experience as much of this wonderful planet and its magnficent inhabitants as I possibly can with my budget and time constraints. I realize there are alot of people in my same postion. I woke up one day and realized I was over forty and living a completely boring life and had not done any of the things I always said I would. So, I am going to start today! I invite anyone who feels the same way to join this journey.
